If you open frmNoQueries there is a text box for Fine. Try to add a new record and when you get to Fine you will see the error.
What i meant was that when i open the Fine form by itself i can enter a fine without an error. However, when in the main form if i try to enter a fine i get the error. The fine in the main form is the Fine subform. In other words, Fine on the main form is the fine on the subform...

In the sample I provided it all works fine (no pun intended). You can't open the FINE form outside of the main form and expect it to work. There's nothing to connect it to the main record.

Forgive my newbieness. Yes, it is on the subform that is embedded in the mainform. That, im sure, is what i meant to say.

That's strange. I am seeing the error in the copy you sent me with no modifications. I click add record, fill in all of the data up until Fine, but when I place the cursor in the Fine box and press a number, the error appears before entering a value...
