Sometimes I really HATE Access! I'm trying to create an import specification for a comma-delimited text file in Access 2000. Seems simple enough, right? So far, from what I've read, the only way to do so in Acc2K is using the Advanced button in the Import/Export wizard. I've been through the wizard multiple times now and at no point am I ever provided with an Advanced button.

Anyone else ever run into (and hopefully solved) this issue? I can't seem to find any references to it anywhere (not that I really expected anything from the MS Knowledge base!).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Anne

Ac2K certainly DOES have this ability on my desktop because I have to use it all of the time. I import comma-delimited data from my mainframe for statistical performance graphs on at least a monthly basis.

Normally the "Advanced" button appears in the bottom corner of one of the early dialog boxes, I think starting with the first one. Can't recall whether it is the bottom left or bottom right corner.

If you aren't getting that button on your dialog box, it is possible that your installation of the product was incomplete. I've seen it before. I always advise folks to do a custom Access install and include ALL WIZARDS for any topic or file format that remotely sounds familiar. Don't forget that text importation is ALSO a wizard-based function. The issue is, of course, that if you didn't install it, Access can't use it.
