Can anyone help ?

I have a form in Access 97 which contains embedded charts.

When I try to open the from I get this message..

"282 error when you loaded the form or report. You loaded a form or report that has controls or properties that Microsoft Access does not recognise and will ignore."

If I try to open the form in design view from the main database window I get the following...

"The microsoft jet databse engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time." -this happens when I am the only user in the database.

and then

"A problem occurred while microsoft access was communicating with the OLE server."

When I try to delete the form Microsoft Access closes down.

i have created, from scratch, the form again which workd fine but I can't get rid of the old one.

Any ideas ?

hello SBM
try to compact and repair the database
tools:database utilities:compact and repair database...
maby it will help

are you trying to open the form whith a button in an other form?

You could also try creating a new blank database. Import all objects from the old one into the new one but not the old form that gives you trouble. Make a backup before trying anything though just in case!

Thanks for your replies.

I have repaired the database but the problem persists.

When I try to compact the database I get an error message which says...

"Records can't be read. No read permission...."

The form is opened by a button from another form.

It is a large database with many object so, whilst this is an option, it's a last resort.

Thanks again.
