Can't Find Known field??

Ok, here is the deal. I recently added a field to a table that already existed. Now I have to update a report that also already exists. I update the query that is driving it, it runs fine. I set up my group by header/footer based on my new field, it too also runs fine. However , if drag the new field from the Access generated field list, the report no longer works, saying it can't find said field. I have also tried adding the field manually, but I get the same results. Anybody ever hear of this?

Is the new field part of your Recordsource for your report?

Yes, I am able to drag and drop the field for the field list generated by the recordsource

I also use 97 at work and if I work on a report for a long period of time it can sometimes become corrupt and exhibit similar problems to what you have described. Can I suggest that you take a screen-print of your report, print out a hardcopy and then try to re-create a new one from scratch. Sounds like a pain in the ass, but I assure you it will probably be quicker. I suspect that taking a copy of the report will also copy the problem.. the best way is to start again. Another good reason to keep regular backups of your db... I have learnt the hard way too!!
