I am doing pretty well with Access and have never had this come up before. At the bottom where you can click to go to new record...that button is greyed out, therefore i cannot go forward. I know this is very simple. The 'allow adds, deletes and edits' are all checked yes on my properties. Thanks for your help! ~j

Are you showing your values in the form? If it direct from table you can add, if from query, i think you can not add..

almost correct, you have to make sure your query is an updatable one. if it is then you can add.

Your table must have a primary key.

Simply not true; where did that come from?

As Rainman89 said, some queries are updatable and some aren't! From the facts you've given, it would appear that your form is based on a query. A simple test would be to open the query and see if you can add a record to it. Allen Browne, the "Wonder from Down Under," gives a very good explanation of this phenomenon as well as possible workarounds.

Good Luck!

Indeed it is not. Sorry. Applies when linked to external tables - informix etc.
