Can't open reports - error message

For some reason, the reports function in Access isn't working on my desktop PC. When I try to create a new report in design view or access existing reports (even in design view) I get the following error message:

"There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object. The object may have been sent to a printer that is unavailable."

The reports won't open (I tried Design and Print Preview) and I can't create new ones. The other components of Access seem to be working fine. Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

I don't have any good ideas, just a few shots in the dark. Do you have a default printer set up on your system? Can you print from other parts of Access?

I can print forms. I do have a default printer set up on my machine, and if I highlight a report and go to File | Print... the printer listed is my default printer (which IS available). So I'm stumped.

A check of the Microsoft Knowledge Base turned this up: ACC2000: Error Message: Problem Retrieving Printer Information . I hope it will solve the iissue.

Thanks, I'll pass that info along to my IS people and see what they want to do. Interestingly, I e-mailed the db to myself and downloaded it to my notebook, and it seems to work fine there. But of course it isn't hooked up to the printer.
