Can't understand why one query is updateable and one isn't

Records can be added into the "Final Assembly" query...which is how I want it.

I endeavored to set up the "Structures" query just about identically (the only real difference is that I need two temperatures in its table)...but that one simply won't let me!

I've pared down the database as much as possible, removed all the forms and VBA...and I just can't figure out the difference between those two queries that's causing this problem.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Your ID in Structures Log is an Autonumber and Indexed Yes (Duplicates OK), it should be Yes (No Duplicates).

Don't use Combo Boxes in Tables as Lookups.

Adjust your tables so that each has Autonumber as the Primary Key. Then add Foregin Keys to create your Joins.
