Hi,
As you can see from the number of posts I am rather new at this. I am building an estimating package. If you open the JOB PRICING form you will see a page showing Client and several subforms including ORDER, PRODUCTS and TIME QUOTED.
As you can see it is very, very cramped.

When you enter a Product description in a new line on the Products Subform and hit the Plus (+) key on the left it pops up a form called 'description record finder' It's ok initially as you can read same without too much moving of the slider bar on the right. However as you get closer to the bottom of the PRODUCTS subform it becomes a constant battle to keep moving slider bars to keep the 'Description Recorder Finder' subform in view. Is there a slicker way I can do this??
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Bob

Bob,

For being rather new, your forms look pretty good!

Offhand, there are two things that I could suggest. The first is
rather labor intensive. You can dynamically resize forms. Your
forms could stay as they and, but if the user double-clicks on
the product form, it could shrink and the labor hours could grow.

An alternative, could be that since it looks like when the users
go to the labor hours subform they may spend a while. You could
consider making it a modal, popup form.

As a last alternative, if only "some" of your labor collections
have a lot of entries, you could make a "taller" form and let
them scroll down to see the rest.

Just them thoughts ...

Hi Wayne,

I have been sidetracked on other issues. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I'll see how I go with the Modal - POPUP forms. I have spoken to one of the senior Analysts at work and he indicated that your suggestion is the most frequently adopted. Now I'll try to read up on Popup and Modal forms (I got a lot searching last night) and see what I can do.

Cheers,

Bob
