changing multiple records at once

Hi i have a splitview form that has a sub form which is a continuous form. On the continuous form there is a start and end date for each record. i would like to be able to change all the start dates on the continuous form by selecting a date once and hitting update or something like that does anyone have an idea how this can get done?


so what i have going on is i have designers building scaffolds and adding articles to the scaffold (thus the continuous list) then a few months down the road the site planner will schedule the scaffold to be built and torn down. this will be done on this split form noted above. once that is done i need to have a date and an action applied to each article in the scaffold because i need to track usage of all the material per peice on a job site. this is a huge undertaking and i am new at this so any help i can get would be greatly appreciated

I don't know if your tables are structured properly, but I'm not certain I fully understand your data either. Can you post some sample data to demonstrate what you are doing? Also a screenshot of your Relationships would help as well.

i have almost 80 tables on my database. it is kind of ridiculous but it is a major project. i did figure out a solution to the problem. i dont need to have a continuous form that is update able rather make it into a contiuous form based on a query.. and that works....thanks anyway

You having 80 tables makes me even more confident in saying that your database probably isn't structure properly. You may have overcome this issue, but you may be in for a long road of them if you don't design your tables correctly.

this program runs everything from quotes to invoicing, rental, demand planning,payroll, hr, safety Stats, Deliveries, returns damaged goods, i have lots of different resources and different tracking for each type of resource. I probably have a few tables that can be a bit redundant and as i go i am getting rid of them. but believe me when i say this is a big project if you would like i can show you if you have time to go through it. but right now there is just a bunch of forms that arent connected and i could definitly use the help
