Hello,

I have existing records. 1102 of them to be precise. I updated the form that is used to enter the data for this and the new form is completely new.

I was wondering if its possible to make a new form think its on 1103?

What Ive done thus far is have my form with an Autonumber field at the top. I did an append query so the next number is 1103. But the record selector numbers are at 1. Thats what I would like to change to 1103. I dont know if this is possible or not but thought Id give it a shot.

Thanks.

Pretty sure you can't customise the look of the navigation bar, the number displayed there is simply a count of the records that have been returned to the form.
You could replace the navigation bar with one of your own design. Once that was done you could put whatever number that you wanted in there.
However I wonder why you would want to do this. Would it not be easier to make it clear to your users that the record number and the current index are independant of each other?

If what you are saying is that you want the form to open positioned at the last record, why? You should open the form in one of two ways, with a filter that limits the number of records, or ready to input new data. There is really no reason to have Access run a query to retrieve 1100 records when the form opens. The user either wants to look at a specific record or add a new one.

I ended up putting an unbound field in the form and a button to show the form that the number is entered. Seems to work good. This thing really isnt for me, but for our floor. They were used to doing something a certain way and do not like change.

well......

Thanks for your input
