I hope you can help with this problem!
I have an Access DB to the point that I am doing most of the data entry and frequently change from the Form view to the Datasheet view and utilize the filter options to check for duplicates. Every time I switch to the datasheet view and go back to the Form View the program crashes and I am given an option to report it to MS or not to report it and then instructed to make a backup name.

This is really getting monotonous since it happens about 10 times a day! I haven't been able to find a reference for this let alone a solution. Can you help me?

Thank You.

Wilhels,

Whenever you find Access doing something that "really shouldn't happen",
go to Tools --> Database Utilities --> Compact/Repair. If that doesn't
help, import all of your objects into a blank database.

It doesn't sound like you have any complex things happening that would
force a crash. Try those first and if that doesn't work, post the db if
you can.

Are you the only user in the db? Access 2000 and newer will not allow you to save changes to the design of an object while it is opened by another user.

Views Crashes Program

Yes, I am the only one using the DB at this point. One other note -
If I am in the Form view and go to the Design View BEFORE going to the Datasheet view and then reverse that process is does not crash. It only crashes when going straight to the Datasheet view and back to Form view.

Thank you! I tried the DB repair and nothing new happened so I just copied the form items to a new form and VOILA! No more crashing. Very bizarre!

Thank you so much!

:)

wilhels,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Access!

Back up frequently,
