hi,
i am using 2013 access and i cannot find a chart details ie pivot or bar charts. therefore I have exported the information into an excel . if there is no charts functions on this access
is it possible to export the information yet the pivot chart stays in the excel so i don't have to keep creating the charts information

I used to do a lot of this. First Access does have the ablity to chart data--but its not as easy as excel.

What I would do is set up a spreadsheet with 2 tabs a 'data' tab and then a 'chart' or 'pivot' tab. The chart/pivot tab would look at the data tab and generate the appropriate chart/pivot. When time came to update the data I would run a query, paste it into the data tab and refresh the pivot/chart.

I didn't digest the data, others did and they liked this method because it gave them the ability to dig into the data when necessary.

Agree with this.
Don't forget: In your pivot you better extend the number of records (under options, change data source) you are looking in, so the data tab can grow without you missing suddenly data in your pivot

I would further prefer to have a query in the tab data in stead of copying it manually. Then you only need the right mouseclick and select "refresh"
