Chat to users

Has anyone ever made a code to enable users to chat to each other in real time to help with transfering calls etc within the organisation?

Yes I have, but its generally a bit a performance drainer due to amount of form refreshes required.

Why not install windows messenger and limit it to only internal conversations?
Thats what we have at our work and I find it works very well

Yes, I thought that might be the case.

I work within a large organisation and think I'll struggle getting any sort of IM installed as we have lots of policies etc.

I'll have a play.

I too have created this functionality but I agree with SQL_Hell that it really drains perfomance
