Check Email Address

Hi.

I wondered if there was a way to check if an email address is valid, ie. It dosent "bounce" if an email is sent?

Hi. Thanks for your input, but clearly you have missed the point.

The reason i posted this in Modules and VBA is because i wondered if there was a way to perform such a check in code, clearly this is different to actually sending and email and trying it out.

Can anyone help?

Sender verify callouts are used by mailservers to ensure this but trying to do this in vba is likely to be very difficult, so effectivley the answer to your question is no.

You may be able to do this with SMTP I did see a mail download script somewhere and thought I had saved it but my files there are a mess LOL

if you use SMTP and download mail from XY accounts then you could check the subject line to see if it includes say "Failure" or "Notification" you may need to add a number of different words as this could be different for some?
