Hi all!

I have been having trouble activating the code builder. I am new to Access (use version 2016) and I am getting my head around Microsoft's Inventory Template, which I am slowly modifying to meet the needs of my workplace. The machines at work run databases with a runtime so some of the conversion applications, like to excel are not available. I would like to create a button (Done) and then create VBA code (done) to extract data from a report and save to the desktop of a client. I have tried to enable the button wizard through design but I have no wizard appearing when I place the button. I also cannot get the choose builder menu to appear. (Code, Macro and Expression) I have the latest version of access 2016 and have even installed Access 2010 to double check and I can't work this out. I am feeling pretty defeated. I am sorry if anyone has already dealt with this before but I really need someone's help; if there some setting I have not enabled, a patch I need to apply, etc, etc. Thanks for your time and help.

Happy holiday, Simon :banghead:

the button wizard only provides basic actions, not sure it is up to do what you require, but to check they are activated, click on the down arrow here

and ensure the 'use control wizards' is activated

with regards code/macros, ensure the control properties are visible (see properties option on ribbon), choose the events tab and select your event - usually the click event

I have a web app database. I am advised I need to convert this to desktop to have full VBA functions available. Thanks

That is indeed correct.
Access web apps are in their final death throes.
They cannot run any VBA nor can you have reports in AWA.
Desktop apps have the 'full power of Access' available
