Either way, I voted this morning. I held my nose and got it done...God bless the USA and God help bless Virginia!!

More than once, I was glad the Louisiana had electronic voting machines. Makes it easier to hold my nose when voting.

VA still has the "blacken the circle" thingy but then some sort of scanner/reader records the vote.

The incumbent Sherriff was actually outside the location and answering any questions so I asked him why he deserves my vote. His answer was unimpressive but at least he was there so he got mine and my wife's...

Interested to see the outcome of this one. A barometer for the Biden presidency.

It is! The prelimanay polls had it so close that Obama campaigned for the Democrap incumbent. Pulling up ALL the stops!

Has Fox News called it for Terry McAuliffe yet? Just kidding, Fox would never do that. ;)

Although the outcome is binary, regardless of who wins or loses, it will tell you which way the wind is blowing. It's not a question of if, but how much support Biden has lost.

When do the results come out?

I was just reading up on that. Could be as late as Friday and if it is close, it may take longer - especially if TM is losing!

The trick is to stay away from the "news" until it is over. Nothing but madness there

Oh, I was thinking it will be later today. Drat!

I know. But there will be plenty of words said. It takes time to count the mail-in ballots. Believe it or not, some folks still us the postal service!

In Louisiana, the voting date is 11/13, though early voting started 9/30 and ends 11/6.

Looks like the Republican Youngkin has won.

It isn't official yet, but the media outlets are saying it's all but a certainty.

Edit: it is official. I am pleasantly surprised!

My biggest reason for voting for Youngkin (Republican), was his stance on mandatory vaccines and facemasks. No matter what my opinions on them are, the government has no right to impose on my civil rights, no matter how noble the cause may be.

I realize that when you choose to live in close proximity to others, the black and white becomes shades of gray, but Northam (the incumbent) and subsequently McAuliff wanted to impose near-martial law over this.

I read that many may have voted Republican because of Critical Race Theory taught in schools there. Or was it the transgendered ra** case where the school governer lied about the abuse and reported the parents for terrorism? Just putting that last sentence in writing makes me realise how the world has gone mad.

Absolutly. Those issues were cussed and discussed quite a bit. Unfortunately, the FEDS dictate what gets taught in public schools by holding federal funds for ransom if the schools do not comply. The Governor of each state can of course override the Feds (on most cases) the the states have come to rely on federal funding to survive. It's almost a figure head job anymore.

abuse and reported the parents for terrorism?
Although those instances did occur, they were no where as frequent as the media wants everyone to believe. I agree that even ONE occurrence needs to be dealt with, but it isn't like this was a common everyday thing.

But, you are right...this world we have created is absotively posilutly bat-shit crazy. My grandfather once told me that if you are driving through hell, grab the steering wheel with both hands and step on the gas. I don't think there is enough in the tank to come out the other side...

I was only aware of the one case of alleged terrorism. But when the world is littered with suicide bombers, calling disgruntled parents terrorists is ridiculous. It reminds me of the phrase "Words are violence", which the far left keep repeating (and believing). It is just tyranny. Where does it end? 1984.

I couldnt agree more. The AG was questioned before congress on this and his responses are simply unacceptable. Here is one of my favorite clips:

I had already seen that one. I think I also saw one with Ted Cruz, who I think is excellent at cross-examination.
