I know it's possible to use the System Color selector, but I don't like the look of it so I decided to create one for myself.
This one is much more cusomizable - changing borders colors and setting the position.
It won't give you millions of colors to select from, but for my needs 108 colors + 9 B/W (Grays) is enough
Included the code used to create the colors grid so you can create it to fit your needs
