Colours in Continuous Form

Hi,
I have a continuous form which has a combo box limited to green, blue, yellow, red, purple and N/A (for blank).

It is possible to make the back ground colour = what is entered into the combo box?

I have been searching and searching and have seen conditional formatting everywhere but it wont help as i need 6 options. I only have basic VB skills and usually can only hack and change not write from scratch

Anyone able to help me please.

Tanks guys, i id find the lebans site which i was using to try and sought something out but the page that ruralguy had was fantastic.
