Column report Issues

I'm trying to build a report which will eventually be used as a subreport. I've got the general design of the report completed but now i'm having some issues with resolving further settings.

The report consists of training classes and dates an individual participated in said training classes. I've got the report set up with group headers (training title) and the dates the classes took place in the details portion.

The problem i'm having is when an individual has participated in the same class, it wastes a lot of space on the right as the classes are listed in a column style, top to bottom. I'd like to utilize the empty space to the right and have the dates list left to right for about 4 columns then start over on the next line.

I've set up the data fields to 2" with 4 records to each line, this should make up for the total 8" of the page. The problem i'm having is the headers themselves are also moving down into the column list and pretty much dropping the group header.

I want the training header to remain slightly above record dates and only have the dates located in the "details" portion of the report list in a column of 4.

Please Help.

Imagine the effort it takes to see all that stuff in the mind's eye just based on your description, vs. you just posting an as-is screenshot plus a constructed to-be one.

Gentlemen,

Sorry about not getting back sooner, I went to work shortly after I posted and haven't gotten to get back to it until now.

The bad news is I would have to agree with your reply, I just read it again myself and see how I should have worded most of it differently to describe what it is i'm trying to do.

The good news is through some trial & error and research, I found a resolution to my problem and its working like a charm at this time.

Despite my lack of explanation, thank you very much for at least trying to make some sense out of my nonsense. Off to the next task.
