Is it possible to take a field from 2 separate tables and show both sets of values in ascending order in 1 single combobox? I would rather not combine these tables which is why i ask.

I don't really understand the end game for this combobox, but yes you can. A combobox's data source can be based on a query. Build the appropriate query and the combobox can display the results.

When that advice technically works, but doesn't give you exactly what you want, post back here with a more detailed explanation of the big picture.

Well I have multiple tables that include different pieces of equipment with different kinds of information tied to each of them.

I then have a work order form that I select a UnitID(Piece of equipment) for a tech to go work on. air compressors, boilers, chillers etc..

each "Type" of equipment is in a different table.

I would like to pull all the UnitID from boiler, ac and chiller and show them all in a combo box to make selecting a unit simpler on myself. rather then having to filter the combobox first using another combobox.

Your table structure is not normalized. Type should be a field in tblEquipment, and the primary key for tblEquipment should be a foreign key in tblUnits. Your current structure is not doing you any favors.
