combo box filter

Hi,

I have a combo box filter set up. It works perfectly when it comes to data entry. However, when users browse through records, the 2nd combo box only shows contents once. It only shows the text for the 1st issue, then stops showing texts.

Hopefully my attached sample database explains visually. When you go in, click on the form, and use the navigation buttons to go to the next issue. Notice that the 2nd combo box(initiative stops showing contents when you get to the 2nd record.

It works fine for data entry, but not for viewing?

could anybody help me on this?

Well, to solve your immediate issue you would need to requery the second combo box in the Current event of the form, but that's really only a band-aid because of the design of the db. First, you are using lookup fields in your tables, which you should not do for several reasons. For more on this see;

Beyond that, It's not really clear what the nature of the relationships between your tables is supposed to be. You have created relationships between the tables but have not enforced referential integrity, so it really is not much more than an exercise in drawing lines.

Is it the Category entity can have one or many Initiatives and the Initiative entity can have one or many Issues?

Or, is supposed to be more like the Issues entity can be related to many Categories and many Initiatives?
