Hello All,
I'm really new to this... so please be gentle :o (I tried to look for this in other threads... so if it's a repeat I apologize)

In any case I'm trying to build a database that keeps up with all the admin on employees (performance reports, qualifications, etc).

I want to be able to select their supervisor from a combobox, and since their supervisor will also be in the organization it will need to populate from a first name and a last name field. I understand if I try to populate from only one or the other then multiple people named "Smith" or "John" will mean they may not be connected to the correct person. So I need to be able to select "John Smith" or "Jane Smith" from the combo. I've seen it done... but I have no idea how to make it happen.

Thanks!

Thanks Pat! Appreciate the help.

My only concern right now is whether this new table will populate itself based on information entered into the "members" table, or if I'll have to populate it on its own.

I'll keep playing with it and see if I can figure it out.

Ok Pat, I think <additional stress on "think" intended> I understand. I store the supervisor's EmpID in the supervisor field of the table, then write a query that populates the "Supervisor" Combo box. This query will return First Name and Last Name (and maybe Middle Initial or something if I'm worried about multiple people with the same name) from the EmpID. Does that sound right?

I also want to make sure the supervisor's name is displayed on the form, and not their EmpID, which is an Autonumber no one will recognize.

Do you have any advice (or code would be even better) to help make this happen? Again, I'm pretty new to the game, so this is fairly difficult for me.

Thanks a bunch!
