I first created a form AuthorSequence that has 3 combo boxes that work together through queries and macros. If you pick the LastName then there is a requery and the FirstName will only come up that is associated with the LastName ect.. Everything worked fine as a form. I also created a main form PublicationEntry where new publications will be entered into the database. I needed the AuthorSequence form to be a subform because you can have more than one author for a given publication. When I made the AuthorSequence form into a subform within PublicationEntry none of the queries or macros that I have work. When you pick the last name from the combo box an error message comes up saying that I can't use the ApplyFliter action here. I don't have that action enabled. It then says to do a SelectObject action which I tried but to no avail. Has this happened to anyone before? I need help!!! I have been working on this problem and everytime I see anything on the subject it is always for regular forms and not subforms. Any help would be appreciated!!!

In case any one is wondering about this. I called and got help because I was needing an answer quickly. Microsoft Tech Support told me that when using a subform you can not use a requery action in a Macro. It is a known problem that occurs with this action. Instead you need to replace your requery action with a Runcommand action and type Run into the command box that prompts you. You also have to make your queries include the subform name and the control name of the subform that you are wanting this query to work for. It is a little complicated but actually it works really well. My form is looking great and working so that is good!
