Combo Box Requery Problems (1 Viewer)

I'm having this bizarre problem when requerying my combo boxes. When I add or delete a record I have "cboWhatever.requery" which is working but not right away. It takes about 2 seconds before the combo box requeries so if you click on the combo box within the two seconds the deleted record appears or the new record is missing. I tried disabling the combo box, requerying it and then re-enabling it but it gets enabled before the records are updated. I can actually hear my hard-drive requery the database a few seconds after updating. How can I fix this problem? I've been working on it forever.
