I have a combo box with 2x columns:

Country
Region

I want the user to select the country (from a list using a combo box) and the Region to auto-populate without user intervention (e.g. if they select France - Europe will auto-populate).

I have seen this done before, but I cannot find an exaple to look at.

Do I bring in both fields within the 1st combo box and the view only 1 and then reference the second column with a control box? I'm sure I have read something on this....

Regards
Mandy

Yes, just reference the second column in a textbox:

=ComboBoxName.Column(1)

Mmmmm.... it works great for viewing records... when I create a new record however it does not update? (I put it in the "Default value" of the data tab of the properties....)

also, within the 1st combo box... how do I display only 1 column? (The 1st column - country?)

thanks,
Mandy

It's not a value you would normally store, since it's already stored in the other table. You can always join the 2 tables together in a query to get the region associated with the country.

I only have 1 table. This table is populated with both country and region.

I almost want to look up the country and return the region.
