combo to filter a from by set dates

hi

i have a continous form that lists dates of events.

i have a combo in the header with three option; summer winter autumn.

depending on which one is chosen i want to filter the form by dates. that is my first problem - how do i reference which option is chosen?

my next problem is, lets say the date today is 1 october, when you choose the summer option i want it to filter out next summers dates. this was i wont have to keep changing the filter. so the combo needs to filter out either the current season, or the next one.

i have looked around but no one has seemed to have this precise problem.

First of all you will need to define the dates when the season changes and use that as a qualifier. One a more dirtier level, and normally not condoned, when you save a record to a table have another field that stores the season in it. As this could be calculated it is usually frowned up. But for easier programming you could do it this way. Then when you choose the season from the combo box it filter on the seaon field not a date field.
