I've developed an access database which has been working, except for a bug here and there. Early this morning I removed some old programs from my computer and must of taken something I shouldn't have. Now none of the command buttons will display their caption. When I click on them they still perform their function . Someone have a suggestion as to what I may have removed or corrupted? I've gone to a number of my backups and all do the same thing. The reference Libraries are still the as they were before or at least appear to be so. I've repaired Access itself and run a number of other fix the system type utilities. The problem continues.

Would appreciate any suggestion as to what to do or where to look.

thanks,

And you've written something in the Caption property of the button?

Yes, I am having strange problems with Access 2010 cmd. buttons also. When I 1st wrote the db, "Add New Record", "Delete" and others worked then after working on it for a couple of days, they just quit working. I hv had problems with combo boxes not updating forms, etc. And things are degrading. Sometimes when I open the db, it works, other times it doesn't!

It's time for you to move the objects into a new database shell.

Thanx for the reply! I was just about to do that (and dreading it) when I stumbled upon a post that said .accdb files are handled differently in Access 2007 than in Access 2010. The blogger suggested that the filename extensions be renamed to the old .mdb format. I tried this first, and have had no other problems... I had to delete and re-do a couple of buttons and save them, but since then, everything has been smooth and trouble-free!
