Question Compact and Repair Problem

This is a complete mystery. I have a database that fails to work anymore when I do a Compact and Repair on it. I can see that the database size is smaller, but when I try to open it, it just comes up to the general Access 2007 screen. The database absolutely will not open. Any ideas whatsoever?

What I do in this case is to create a new blank database and import all the objects from the old database. You may get errors on some objects. These you will need to recover from a backup copy (I hope you make lots of backups!).

Is your database split into a front end and back end? If not, tt really should be split.
