Hi Guys,

I have a database in 2003 and we had a network crash.
The database wont let me save new queries, so i tried a Repair and compact and got the following error

"Microsoft Jet Database engine could not find the Object MsysCompactError'

has anyone seen this before and any ideas how to correct....:banghead:

Try importing all the objects to a new ACCDB/MDB file. Might be some lock issue. Importing should sort them all out !

Thanks - Is there an easy way to import "select All" doesnt seem to work

I have loads of linked tables, queries, forms, reports etc

Create a new empty file, then go to 'External Data' tab, then Import Access Database. Then in the dialog box that follows you will have all Queries, Modules etc. You can select all there. Do not try to export from the problematic file.

Fantastic - never knew about that options - will try now. I was trying a "push" rather than a "pull"

Sometimes it easier to "pull". Keep me posted ! Good luck ! :)

During the import i found the error.

the table Msyscompacterror was a table linked to another database - the table didnt exist in this other database.

So I deleted the link and the compact worked fine :D
