I would like to query a table called permit which has a field called seal. Seal is a seven character field. Permit has approximately 300,000 records. My problem is I have stacks of records that may or may not be in the permit table. My goal is to run 10 to 30 records against the permit table looking to see if any of the 10 to 30 records exist within the permit table.
So basically I have a bunch of records that only contained the field "Seal". If one of the 10 to 30 records exist in the permit table there should be an indicator next to those 10 to 30 records showing it exist.
Now for my problem. I don't have a clue to how this should work. This novice, or greenhorn, is hoping to find ways that this can be accomplished. I'm dealing with approximately 4,000 records that need to be compared to the "Permit" table. And usually I'm trying to compare anywhere from 5 to 30 records at a time.
