Comparison Report

I need to create a report that will compare two different years.

For example, I have a table containing sales data for 2002 and 2003 and I want to create a monthly comparison (total sales Jan/02 vs. total sales Jan/03).

What is the best (and easiest) way to do that?

Your advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Try using pivot tables; I find the easiest way to do this is using Excel, rather than Access. YPivot tables in Access do not seem to have the same flexibility.

You can set up a query in Access, then link to the query using Excel.


For help on this just press F1 in Excel and ask about pivot tables, the Wizard does a good job of taking you through it though

I don't want users to go to Excel to see the report, my intent is to have the report ready so anyone can just click a button in Access and bring it up.

I was thinking having something that would give me the following:

........... 2002.....2003
-----------------------------
Jan..... $1,000......$2,000
Feb......$3,000......$3,000
Mar..... $1,500......$2,000

etc..


I tried using a report with two columns but it didn't work...
