Has anyone ever come across this problem before? Whenever I start to type any docmd...line of code the 'Complete Word' facility does not work, unless I start it manually. I have to do this repeatedly. It is very annoying and of course time consuming. I had not realised how much I had become dependent on this 'predictive' code.

I have never experienced this problem before and have no idea how to address it. I did uninstall MS Office (Pro 2010) but after reinstalling, I found that the problem persists. What's going on?

Can anyone help?

Rob

Have you gone into the VBA window and then to TOOLS > OPTIONS and on the EDITOR tab, make sure Auto List Members is checked? If it is, you may want to uncheck it, close Access, re-open and then check it and see if that helps.

Hell Bob, many thanks for your prompt reply. I had a look as you suggested. The Auto List Members was checked. I unchecked and restarted. No difference.

Do you think that I might have a virus problem? This has never happended before and was working as normal up until two days ago. I did not change any of the Access Tools settings.

I doubt it is a virus. I've had that problem before but it seems to come and go. Does it happen in every database or only specific ones?

I copied my dbase to another computer and tried it there. Works perfectly. I opened a different dbase on the original computer and it had the same problem. It appears therefore that the issue is with either the computer or the programme rather than the database itself.

Sorry Bob, I take that back. I just opened an old copy of my dbase that I had archived and it works without problem.

I have created a new blank dbase and I will import all the components of the effected one, Maybe this will help. I'll let you know.

No, same problem. I'll go back to the last changes that I made to see if I can locate the problem there. Thanks Bob.

Try doing DEBUG > PROJECT and see if there are errors stopping things.

Indon't seem to have the option to debug - Project. In the Debug area of the VB Editor window there are several options but not Project. Am I looking in the wrong place? I am using Access 2010.

Sorry, it is DEBUG > COMPILE (and it will list the project name after the word compile).

Hey Bob, it seems to have worked. Discovered one or two issues with the code, but I'll deal with them later. I just REM'd them in the meantime and now 'Complete Word' facility is working again. You are a star sir!
