Each time a person enters a part number into the form they will have an option to pick and load other forms. Looking to have 1 form with a cmd button that when pressed will go out and retrieve an object or objects (spreadsheet, word document and etc) and then place in the OLC’s and rename and store this object on a drive with the name of the part number and form name
I want the templates never to change or be updated. Only the objects store on the drive after the command button is pressed or the Ole object is double clicked can be edit.

I've tried hyperlinks, do not want to have operators do save as, also I would have to have all the forms entered for each part number prior to versus just using templates and having them be stored.

Example of save forms names
c:\mydocuments\tracking1234\1234-Template-1
c:\mydocuments\tracking5678\5678-Template-2

Not even sure this can be accomplished. See attachment for a visual idea.

thanks dmh

Okay Uncle Gizmo

Uncle Gizmo:

The database will contain some information, but my customers supply lot of the forms being imported in. I really don't want to recreate close to 1000 plus forms which are unique to each customer. If I do start to create the tables for the forms, what would be the simplest way to create spreadsheets and word documents? I know commands like this “” DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputQuery, "qryCriteria", acFormatXLS, , True”” for output and such. Just need some programming ideas. Still working on a solution in my mind for tracking changes on the forms. Maybe by each time the form is accessed, deleteing the original file and appending a new date.

I would still like to have the original option though and build off of that with time.

Thx dmh

Any other ideas or is it to complex to do.

I have search this forum and other forums on programming information for my problem and have not found any idea's. I get bit's and pieces of information, but someone with a little more experience than me should be able to provide some basic code to help me accomplish this task or get me started. Any help would be appreciated.
thx dmh

I can't belive no one has an idea on how!

You answer the same questions over and over on forms, but I get no response on trying something different. What, can it not be done?
