In a simple access table, I have the follwiing:

Data type: Date/Time

Format: mm/yyyy
Input Mask: 99/99

It restricts me to enter 2006 for instance. It converts to 2007. I want to be able to enter any year. Please help. Thank you.

Since you have the input mask set to 99/99, it is likely thinking you are entering it in Month/Day format and then appends the current year, as you have not specified it. If you want it to enter the way you want it, don't select a date datatype, but use a text datatype as it will keep your entries how you want them.

That may mean having to do some other "formatting" and conversion when doing other things, but it will let you do what you won't be able to do otherwise, as a date is stored with all it's parts (Month, Day, Year, Hours, Minutes, Seconds) but displays based on formatting. you don't have to enter time, as it will assume 12:00:00 AM as the default, but you must enter month, day, and year.

Use forms for the input mask and formatting.

Thank you. I shall try and let you know . DKG
