Had a database that worked fine in 1997.
However we have just updated to 2000 and I have been having lots of problems with the conversion. Initially it would not convert. I left it "thinking" overnight and this was not enough time. So I imported all the tables, queries etc from my old database which seemed to work. However when I try to run a report I get the message "you cancelled the previous operation". Even when I try to click on the reports Icons in design view it says "object not name not found.
Is this because I have tried to cheat the conversion update?

(I thought I was gettting somewhere.......)

I had a problem with one in which I still had a form that was linked to a table I had deleted. After I deleted the form everything worked fine.
Perhaps you have some old queries, reports, etc that are looking for a table that was deleted?
Try to clean-up the 97 version as much as possible before converting.

Thanks will have a look at doing that. I think there might be record navigation codes left in there that refer to tables that are no more.
Now to get them to reinstall access 1997......

It is also best to compile the d/b.

Open any part of the vb code in 97 and then (from memory now!!) choose compile and debug...this will route out any bad code that isn't neeed...you need to delete that code.

Now you should be ok
