Whats an easy way to convert from time in minutes and seconds to just seconds?

Use the Minute and Second functions like so

Seconds=(Minute([YourTimeField])*60)+Second([YourTimeField])

that looks like it would work perfectly...

but i am having a problem...

heres the scenario:

We timed the duration of calls.....

but we do it with a stopwatch, which is minutes and seconds...

so when we enter it, we have to figure out what the minutes equate to in seconds....

Now, when i tried just adding your bit of code, it said, after i entered 3:25 in the textbox, that i entered an incorrect entry...that it didn't match....

how do i get this to work...it would be so much easier to enter the minutes directly in, since thats what we have, and then have the code translate it to seconds...

Create a query and use antomack's formula to convert the minutes to seconds.

Do you need to show this in a Report? Query? Form?

well...

created the tables, then a form to enter the data, then doing queries on that main table, then doing a report... : )

Yep, that's it.

so you've...

Created query with antomack's formula, then create report and added appropriate fields and left out the Minute field and add the Seconds Field from the query then you're done


So, I take it it work's to your satisfaction then?
