I need to convert the following string of code into a Public function to place in a module and integrate with I believe Bob Larson's Front-End/Back-End Common Dialog Database Table Linker sample. Apparently the Office 12.0 objects reference in 2007 allows for the open dialog to be used a lot easier.

There was a thread that had the download on here somewhere for the front-end/back-end common dialog linking db that had a table in the front-end which stored the location of the BE database in a table called tblDataFile I think.

I'll attach the database I want to integrate this code with as soon as I get to my laptop.

The code I have found is:

Code:
Private Sub cmdFileDialog_Click()

'Requires reference to Microsoft Office 12.0 Object Library.

   Dim fDialog As Office.FileDialog
   Dim varFile As Variant

   'Clear listbox contents.
   Me.FileList.RowSource = ""

   'Set up the File Dialog.
   Set fDialog = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)
   With fDialog
      'Allow user to make multiple selections in dialog box.
      .AllowMultiSelect = True

      'Set the title of the dialog box.
      .Title = "Please select one or more files"

      'Clear out the current filters, and add our own.
      .Filters.Clear
      .Filters.Add "Access Databases", "*.MDB; *.ACCDB"
      .Filters.Add "Access Projects", "*.ADP"
      .Filters.Add "All Files", "*.*"

      'Show the dialog box. If the .Show method returns True, the
      'user picked at least one file. If the .Show method returns
      'False, the user clicked Cancel.
      If .Show = True Then
         'Loop through each file selected and add it to the list box.
         For Each varFile In .SelectedItems
            Me.FileList.AddItem varFile
         Next
      Else
         MsgBox "You clicked Cancel in the file dialog box."
      End If
   End With
End Sub

I need to replace the above with the following which is referenced in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888695 and also used in the sample DB that attaches the front-end to the back-end.

Code:
Private Declare Function GetOpenFileName Lib "comdlg32.dll" Alias _
"GetOpenFileNameA" (pOpenfilename As OPENFILENAME) As Long

Private Type OPENFILENAME
    lStructSize As Long
    hwndOwner As Long
    hInstance As Long
    lpstrFilter As String
    lpstrCustomFilter As String
    nMaxCustFilter As Long
    nFilterIndex As Long
    lpstrFile As String
    nMaxFile As Long
    lpstrFileTitle As String
    nMaxFileTitle As Long
    lpstrInitialDir As String
    lpstrTitle As String
    flags As Long
    nFileOffset As Integer
    nFileExtension As Integer
    lpstrDefExt As String
    lCustData As Long
    lpfnHook As Long
    lpTemplateName As String
End Type

Function LaunchCD(strform As Form) As String
    Dim OpenFile As OPENFILENAME
    Dim lReturn As Long
    Dim sFilter As String
    OpenFile.lStructSize = Len(OpenFile)
    OpenFile.hwndOwner = strform.hwnd
    sFilter = "All Files (*.*)" & Chr(0) & "*.*" & Chr(0) & _
      "JPEG Files (*.JPG)" & Chr(0) & "*.JPG" & Chr(0)
    OpenFile.lpstrFilter = sFilter
    OpenFile.nFilterIndex = 1
    OpenFile.lpstrFile = String(257, 0)
    OpenFile.nMaxFile = Len(OpenFile.lpstrFile) - 1
    OpenFile.lpstrFileTitle = OpenFile.lpstrFile
    OpenFile.nMaxFileTitle = OpenFile.nMaxFile
    OpenFile.lpstrInitialDir = "C:\"
    OpenFile.lpstrTitle = "Select a file using the Common Dialog DLL"
    OpenFile.flags = 0
    lReturn = GetOpenFileName(OpenFile)
        If lReturn = 0 Then
            MsgBox "A file was not selected!", vbInformation, _
              "Select a file using the Common Dialog DLL"
         Else
            LaunchCD = Trim(Left(OpenFile.lpstrFile, InStr(1, OpenFile.lpstrFile, vbNullChar) - 1))
         End If
End Function
