I have a question relating to Access, which I'm hoping that someone here can help me with. We currently have a large CD library, and a few years ago we had a database created in access which allows us to catalog all of the CD's in the library. Fields include information on artist, track title, publisher, composer etc. We're at a stage now where we'd like to rip all of our CD's, and have a searchable database which allows us to port across all of the existing data from access, but also to locate and audition the tracks themselves. I'm not an access programmer, so please avoid overly technical responses, but does anyone know of any software which would allow us to do this? Essentially we're looking for fully searchable mp3 ripping software with the ability to import data fields from access. Thanks

I used a program Called CD Trustee which uses an access back-end for the date but it didn't have an import except from text files I think.

You'll need one that also downloads the info from the IMDB by the sounds of it.

I can't help ya there as my system works or will when complete on a data share system where users can send data they want to each other Or add it from the web via copy past.

This is the programs home if ya wanna take a look and maybe get some ideas

At the moment only the charts import export is working but the next version will have the rest just gotta find 175Hrs LOL

As A Thought one of my old programs Called Disc Jocky 2000 Used to import it's Disc And Track Info from CD Trustee which worked well just some of the data from the CDDB Wasn't that good.

If you have a good list of disc\Tracks I may be able to help ya or at least try

Here's a pritty pic of that Disc\Track System from that program which must be five years old now LOL

Thanks for your help. After some discussion, we've actually opted for a simpler system than we originally thought we needed. We used to be a big provider of background music to stores, so all of the composer, record company details etc were useful to us then. Now we can get by with just a music database containing artist and track details, along with mp3 files. I think itunes will be ok for this, along with mass storage on a RAID system. Hopefully that should give us the search functions we need, whilst also being fast. I'll test it over the next few days, and if it doesn't work I might just take you up on your offer of some help :) Thanks!
