There's a post on the same subject from 2011; hope no one will mind my reintroducing this topic.

The particular web db I'm looking at is the "Charitable Contributions Web Database." I did try the instructions in that original thread but got confused immediately, not understanding how to import the information from the web db into a new desktop db.

Thanks for your help.

Found it! :D

So, if you want to go forward with this, let's post this stuff here so as not to confuse the threads.

Sorry to create confusion by starting this second thread. To anyone who is reading this, I was unable to follow the instructions by "AccessJunkie" in the original thread on this topic because I got stuck immediately trying to figure out what a client accdb file was--and what "client copy" meant.

Once GinaWhipp pointed out to me that it's simply a new Access database with the .accdb extension, I was able to follow the rest of AccessJunkie's instructions.

Oh wait--my other roadblock was figuring out how to import. That was done by clicking the "External Data" tab then choosing the "Access" icon. I then browsed for the web database and was able to import all the tables. For all the other files I had to follow AccessJunkie's instructions on renaming the queries, forms, etc. I simply kept the name "Copy of X Query" for each object.

I was therefore able to convert the "Charitable Contributions web database" to a desktop database.
