Hi,

When I copy from our access DB 2007 to clipboard, it's very very slow and usually takes 30 minutes and ms access is frozen (not responding)
must say I am copying large amount of data to excel and the usually the excel file is 1.5 mb big
is there a way to speed up the copying to the clipboard?
I even used SuperCopier, but it's still slow....

Hello Paul,

I am just copying a report and we do that quite often.
All reports are usually very quick, but there is just one report that takes a lot of time and I think this is probably because of the size.
Unfortanelty I am new to access and those DocCmd commands I haven't used before, would this speed up the copy process?
Is there an easy way or tis this the best solution and I would need to learn rhose commands?
Thx.

regards,
Erdal

Is there a need to view the report before copying to Excel?

BTW, when you say copy the report, you mean the data in the report right?

Yes, I just copy all the data in the report to clipboard and after that paste it to excel 2007.
No I don't need to view the data.
Just need it copied to excel.

So create a button on a Form, behind the button just code the following..
Code:
Private Sub [COLOR=Blue][B]buttonName[/B][/COLOR]_Click()
    DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "[COLOR=Blue][B]yourReportName[/B][/COLOR]", acFormatXLS, "C:\[COLOR=Blue][B]yourFolderName\yourFileName.xls[/B][/COLOR]"
End Sub
Change all the required information..
