Could not find installable ISAM"

I was using Access 2010 and just updated to 2013. My first use of a 2010 accdb file gave me this error "Could not find installable ISAM".
My OP is Windows 7 Pro 64

Sorry. Yes I'm also using 64 bit for Office. It's the 360 or I belive 2013. The cloud deal.

I'm using Access 2013 64bit. Not sure of the 64bit. My system is 64bit but not sure about Access 2013.

So far this is all I could find, inside of Access. The reason I listed Permit.accdb, I thought that's what you asked for. Sorry. I do know Windows 7 is 64 bit.

Hi--I have an identical problem. I just upgraded from Office 2010 Professional Plus to Office 2013 Professional (32 bit), on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I'm trying to access a .accdb database I've been using for months, but keep getting the "Could not find installable ISAM" message. Any help would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks--

ps--the product is activated properly, and Word and Outlook both work properly--

The file type I think you mean ".accdb" This a a file I created in 2010 Access. The file started as a dbase IV, Windows version, file and was imported into Access as a accdb file. It was used in Access for 2 years with no problems. The actual file is "Permit.accdb". I get the error tiring to open it while in Access 2013 for clicking on it in file manager, Opus.

It seems it might be an issue connected to 2013 since the above "markr99 is having what seems to be the same problem.

The pointers are in correct. in 2010 the location of files that reside in my accdb are wrong. Is there a way to adjust the pointers, location of files, in the .accdb.

I changed a directory name to what it used to be. The file accdb I had opened and had the problem with is still giving the same ;error.

But if I open an untouched, by 2013, file using 2013 it does open. It does appear, possably , that's the issue. I wish there was a way to save, the isam file issue, since it is a bit complex and would save me a learning curve. My program was fired for misconduct, to say the least. I'm left with doing the best with the least, Access skill.

I'm having a very similar problem--upgraded from Office/Access 2010 to Office/Access 2013 32 bit yesterday. I have a video database of approx. 5500 records I use every day. After the upgrade I can't access the .accdb database directly, I get an "Could not find installable ISAM" message. When I click on the table listed below, 'Copy of xxx' I can see the database, but only up to record 2512. Perhaps because it was adapted from a dBase IV database, it still links to that database? Perhaps the MDAC is corrupt? I'm really getting desperate and may have to uninstall Office 2013 if I can't fix this. Thanks!
