Count Files in Folder?

Hi!

I need to count the number of files in a specific folder. And if its possible I want to count files with a specific extension. (e.g. .xls)

I am using some code but it's not working.

Some solutions please! Thanks in advance

Mr Excel has great code too, it is on my favorites list.
I did something a little while back.
Not only filtered for the extension, but looked at each excel to determin it was part of a template, if it was, harvested it. Can't rememer if all the code was posted.
This site might also get you started in the right direction.
