Counting Duplicate Text Strings (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I have a spreadsheet that displays which students had perfect attendance for each month. What I would like to do is to count the number of times each student's name is found in the spreadsheet.

I've tried to do this using the pivot table wizard but I'm having difficulty getting the desired results.

The attached text file shows the layout of the spreadsheet.

Mystery Solved

I managed to figure it out myself. Instead of having a heading for each month of the attendance period I dropped all of the names into a single column labeled Student. Next, I selected Data, Pivot table and dragged the Student heading into the table and a count of the number of months that each student received perfect attendance is displayed.
