Greeting,

I'm having a problem trying to have my query place the group record count on my form. The scenario is this: I have the query name (SPED Main Query Count) group the School Name field and then count the school name which in turn gives me a count of each school. but for some reason the field in the table name School Cnt will not build a relationship with the Countofschool Name in the query in my relationship.

Any Ideals.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, Bryan!

Are you asking me to Post my SQL?

Yes. Unless I am misunderstanding your issue, you are having a problem getting your query to group properly. If you post the SQL for that query, it may help in finding why it's not working properly.

Bryan,

the query is working properly for grouping and counting the schools, but the problem is trying to get the relationship to work properly. I can't get the (2) field to connect to each other. This is so i can display the countofschool name on the form.

Thanks.

Can you post the names of the fields in each table and their data types?

When you say that the relationship won't "work properly", what is or isn't happening?"

bryan, i have an attachment how do you attach.

The word doc. won't go over. But please let me know if you need something else.

Thanks.

To be honest, I don't really understand what you've got going on.

I know you are doing a query to count schools which you say is working properly. One of the fields, presumably in the query since it is not in the list of fields for the tables you posted, is "countofschool". Is this field calculated by the query?

If so, are you trying to place the results of this calculation in the "School Cnt" field of the "SPED Main" table? I'm asking only because you talked about a relationship between these two fields.

What is your ultimate goal, to run the query to obtain a count and then have that count displayed in a FORM?

Yes, you are right Bryan. The countofschool is calculated by the query. Also you are correct about the count needs to be displayed on the form. The way i have it setup right now is, i have the table of the count on the form. But I don't want it like that. I would like to have a field setup to display the count.

Sorry, bryan the count is being pull from the query not the table.

It sounds like you may not have the proper record source for your form. Insure that your query has all of the fields you wish displayed on your form and then design a form using that query as the record source for the form. You'll be able to add the count field to be displayed on the form.
