Hi i'm relativel new to access and I have been tasked with creating a database to hold a lot fo information rather than a spreadsheet. I have managed to create the most part of the database but I am struggling with a search function. What I have is 2 tables one which holds the constant felds tha tnever change and another whcih holds the fileds that will be changed regularly. I display using a form which pulls the constant fields from the first table and teh changeable fields from the second table and a subform which displays all the historic changes that have been made.
What I would like is a form that has all the same fields as the display form (minus the subform) with a button that when clicked will search for any of the data that has been entered in the fields and display the results in the display frm.

Can i do this? and if so can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks

Paul

Unable to view your db today as I am using a AC2002 machine, but from your description, I think you should be able to do this.

Look at this video on search forms.

Now modify the search form to insert a subform. Make the record source for the subform your query that you built as part of the video. Include only those fields in the subform that you wish to see. Your subform may be in form view or data sheet view.
