Create MDE option not available

Hi all,

i'm trying to create a MDE file to my db but the Tools->Database Utilities->Make MDE is not available.

why is that ?
is there anything that needs to be done before i make a MDE ?

I am guessing that you are using Access 2002 yet your db is an Access 2000 version. You need to convert your db to Access 2002 before you can create a MDE version. I am not able to give you the specific steps to do that since I am still using Access 97.

Your database must be fully compiled and error free before the option becomes available.
