Hi,

I have created a forum myself for my site that allows a user to enter feedback for a submission and the feedback is posted on the page instantly.

However, I need a forum that allows new forums to be added each time a user uploads a submission to my site ie. a dynamic one. I want the user to upload a submission (text and images) and when the page is loaded it has the ability for users to add feedback which will only be displayed for that specific thread.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

So wouldn't that be one forum, with no sub sections???
Ergo you've done it already?

Why not use a pre-made forum (and free) such as phpBB or Ikonboard with a mySQL backend rather than attempting one with Access.

SJ: Thats no fun!! ;) You don't get to think it out and make it work...

I tried one, got most of it working, still needs a search ability, oh and a new look (sheepish grin) Guess graphically not sound lol ;)

It may be no fun but it's faster, the database is designed for you, mySQL is more robust database than Access for online usage, the php is written for you, and the forum is customisable.

Getting this out of the way swiftly would allow more time to focus on the main site.

Ok, I conceed that MySql is more robust especially on connections front. If your site is already there and you are doing a forum, why not do it yourself, you get to learn dbs online, and access is good enough initially. If your site and forum gets loads of hits and starts dying, then shift it to mysql...

Mine (as far as I know) is so out of hte way no one goes there so its not a problem :D

And ain't had a poster since January this year. :D

Another reason for using a php solution is that searchbots can follow the links and can archive your pages to help make your site easier to find on Google or some other search engine.

You went there??
(scurries to find logs somewhere of who has been to site) lol :D
