Creating a form for a POS system

Hello,

I am currently creating a database for a POS system but am having issue with the form's creation. Here is a description of the form that is causing me headaches, I have only one input the SKU number which can be scanned in or typed in, after that is scranned in it is going to add a line to a sub-form that has a short desc,quantity,price, and quant*price fields. This is where the issue is, I can't get the subform to accept the sku number and update the line with the rest of the information and then add a new one.

If anyone can see my problem or knows a good way to fix it, please let me know.
