Creating a letter

Can anybody point me in the right direction.
I would like to send selected customers a letter every so often but I'm not sure how to accomplish this.
Do I compile the letter in a report format using a label box? if so how do I add fields to this?
Plus how do I add just the customers I need rather than the whole database?
Just to cap this off is there a way I can email this to the selected customers at a certain time each week in other words automate the process.
Quite a few questions there. If anyone has an example of something similar that would be great.

OK quite a few questions here
to start you can use word to email out via mail merge
and this is probably the best option for you

set up a qry to get the results you want and point your mail merge to this qry -using the mailmerge function within word .

Ok now how to select customers you need to have an extra field in your table called emailtesno as a yes no option -and add this to your customerform and your qry will look at whay you want it to i preseume yes(S) now go through your d/base and select the one you want to mail out

as to automating this - I presume it can but you would have to ask the guys on this - personally diary in outlook and run the merge - takes less than 30 seconds
