Hi

I have a written a database for a client, where they want to use their corporate font style and size for all forms and reports.

How do I set up a new template to replace the normal template for forms and reports as specified in options forms/reports form template and report template.

Access obviously gets its standard format from the normal template, but I just don't know where to go to create an alternative. As usual the help menu wasn't very helpful!!

I know I can get what I want by designing the form, then selecting all controls and changing the font, but this isn't a very elegant solution, and can be easily forgotten.

Thanks in anticipation.

Go to tools, options , hit the forms/reports tab.

Change the form and report fields to a current form or report.

All new forms and reports will be created in that style.

Hope this helps

Hi Dan

Thanks for your reply

I have created a new form and put 1 text box on it.

I changed the font of this text box to be the format I want for all text boxes.
I saved this form and called it helvetica

I went to tools / options and changed the forms template to helvetica.

I created a new form using the new button on the forms tab and then tried to put a text box on using the toolbox. The format of the text box was access's default format, and not the helvetica narrow font size 10 that I had specified in my template form.

I want to be able to create text boxes, controls etc that always have my prefered format whenever I add new ones.

Could you explain what I did wrong, or is it not possible.

I am using access xp with access 2000 format for my database.

Sue,

You're almost there ;)

Within your Helvetica form - display your toolbox. Then click on the text-box icon within the toolbox so that it is highlighted. Then go to properties. Set the appropriate properties for that control type
Do that for each control type you want to customize. Save the form Helvetica.

Now any new form you create should hold those property settings.
